SDS is a lucky chap who has built a dedicated listeing room to accommodate a pair of very last Briks made. They look absolutely gorgeous and are driven by all Linn electronics from head to toe.
SDS comments: "The new build has allowed us to dedicate one room to my beloved music system. The Isobariks (which I bought from a previous owner who worked for a Linn dealer) are among the very last few pairs made. Before the move they were powered by one Linn Klout passively.
Since the move there are now three Klouts and an Aktive Crossover. The sound is awesome.
Its the sound I lusted after as a keen music listener at all the demos I could get to for many years. It will sound better when the boxes are rearranged rather than just 'plonked' together when the builders finished. More tweaking to do still, but I love the music it plays."
System updates:
September-08
His LP12 has been fitted with the Sole subchasis and Plattamat. And his Linn digital separates get a new platform. I've added two dots for new pix. Having heard and enjoyed the Keel, it was the wallet that decided on the Sole.
SDS comments: "Before the arrival of the Sole and mat, came the glass platforms that are separated from the tables with vibration absorbing feet, before the upper platter is levelled to take the source piece of kit. The old adage about the source being the most important part of the system seems to be backed up by what I've found.
Months after all this has been done, my love of the music I hear has grown and grown."
